Guides

Glossary

Short meanings for the words the guides use. Each guide links here the first time it uses one. Looking for prices? See What things cost.

Bonding curve

The built-in price formula a new HartiiLabs token trades against. It always buys and sells, so you never wait for another person. Buying moves the price up and selling moves it down, and you see the effect (the price impact) before you confirm. When the curve is full, the token graduates. Guides: Buy and sell a token, Graduation. Reference: Bonding curve.

Burn

To destroy tokens for good, which lowers the total supply. On a HartiiLabs token, the Burn panel on the token page does it. Sending tokens to the zero address always fails on purpose, so you cannot burn by accident. QuaiAxe uses mining rewards to buy QAXE and then burns it. See FAQ: how do I burn my tokens and QuaiAxe: set up a miner.

Cyprus-1 (zone)

Quai Network runs as several parallel chains called zones. Cyprus-1 is the only zone live on mainnet, and the one every Hartii app uses. Its addresses start with 0x00. Do not send to an address that does not start with 0x00. See Receive QUAI.

Daily challenge

A once-a-day run of a game on hartiigames.com. Everyone gets the same seed that day, you get one attempt per game, and a new challenge starts at 00:00 UTC. It needs a connected wallet. Free play does not. See Play Hartii Games.

ERC-721

The common standard for NFTs. Each token is unique and has exactly one owner. Hartii Gallery sells ERC-721 items. See Gallery: buy, sell and offers.

Gas

The fee every transaction pays to the Quai network, in QUAI. Hartii does not receive it. It changes with how busy the network is. Your wallet and the app show an estimate before you sign, and a transaction that fails can still use some gas. See What things cost.

Graduation

The moment a HartiiLabs token's bonding curve is full. The same contract then becomes the token's permanent trading pool, and buying and selling carry on in the same place. See Graduation.

Hartii name

A name of 3 to 16 letters, numbers or underscores that you register on-chain, so people can pay @yourname instead of copying a long address. It is also called a handle. HPAY looks the name up on-chain before anything is sent. See HPAY: send to an @name and Receive QUAI.

Mutable and frozen

Labels on a Gallery collection. Mutable means the creator can still change the artwork or its data. Frozen means the metadata is sealed and the art cannot change. Check the badge before you buy. See Gallery: buy, sell and offers.

Replay-verified

Games record every input you make. The server replays that recording and accepts the score only if it matches, so scores cannot be made up. See Play Hartii Games.

Season

One version of a game's rules, also called its rules version. Scores set under different rules never share a board, so each season has its own leaderboard and older ones stay as an archive. See Play Hartii Games and Seasons.

Seed

A number that decides the random parts of a game. Two runs with the same seed play out the same way, which is why the daily challenge gives everyone one seed.

Slippage

How far the price can move against you between the quote you saw and the moment your transaction lands. Your slippage tolerance is the limit. If the price moves past it, the trade cancels instead of filling at a worse price. A higher tolerance fills more often, at worse prices. See Buy and sell a token.

Wallet

The app that holds your keys and signs your transactions. On a computer, use Pelagus, a browser extension. On a phone, use the Blip app and open the Hartii page inside it. Hartii never holds your keys, and browsing and free games need no wallet. See Guides.
